'DIG IN'
An Outdoor Learning Event.
Join Master Gardener and garden writer, Holly Rupert for two fun & practical gardening sessions.
Holly writes regularly about garden topics of interest to northern gardeners on her website, 'There Bloms a Garden' and provides advice as a member of the
Thunder Bay & District Master Gardeners.

For this event, Holly will get her hands dirty to help you 'get the dirt' on soil; it's part of
every garden's best start for healthy growth.  Whether you are a novice gardener or have some experience, these sessions will give you practical advice about building a great garden from the ground up & preparing containers for successful planting.

You do not need to register for this free event.

THE SESSIONS:

1:30 - 2:15 pm

Does my soil need help?

Learn some simple ways to assess your soil and to improve it.  Find out about 'black gold' and why gardeners love compost so much.  Learn how you can improve the results in your garden before you even put a plant in the ground!  Take home a simple kit to test your soil texture.

2:30 - 3:15 pm

Does soil really matter in a container?

Find out why beautiful containers start with healthy, rich soil.  Holly will demo how to mix your own potting soil and plant a container for season-long blooms.  Take home a planter recipe to guide your own beautiful efforts this gardening season.

We've planned plenty of time for Q & A.  Join us for a relaxed time in the fresh air.
Please bring a chair and dress for the weather.  Rain/cold weather date:  Sunday,
May 26th at 1:30 pm.  Event takes place Sunday regardless of the weather, because
we're TOUGH!

What else you need to know:

Moss Cottage is a country property located at 700 Hazelwood Drive, just 3km north of Dawson Road.
There are honeybees on the property.  Please be mindful if you are allergic to bees.  We would love to have you join us but honey bees being honey bees they are busy, busy, busy out and about, it's spring after all, and we have no control over their travels about the property.  Should you choose to join us, please be prepared.
Coffee/tea will be available.

If you have any questions, please e-mail me, I'd be happy to help and please take the time to visit Holly HERE

In the meantime, enjoy a fabulous May long, safe travels if you are heading out.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by.
